NEUROTOUCH TERMS OF SERVICE

Massage Therapy in Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia is now the 6th province to introduce legislation to regulate massage therapy to help create better standards and consistency for the profession.  The Massage Therapist Titles Protection Act (or Bill No. 193) is in place to ensure that anyone practicing massage therapy in Nova Scotia, and calling themselves a Registered Massage Therapist, has the proper education and training to give proper health care services and recommendations.

Massage Therapists

Massage Therapists are health care providers, trained in 2,200-hour massage program. Their primary focus is on the muscular system of the body, by using therapeutic massage techniques and manipulation of the soft tissue to relieve pain, avoid physical disfunction, prevent injuries and maintain or rehabilitate physical function. Massage therapists make sure that patients will receive the highest quality of service and will contribute to improving their quality of life.

As a valued client, we ask that you read and agree to the terms and conditions of the  massage therapist services:

Before your treatment

Being able to provide the best treatment possible is very important to us.  When our registered massage therapist arrives at your location they will need you to fill out, or update, a health history form and have a discussion to come up with the best treatment plan for you.  This is a great time to address any questions or concerns that you have about your treatment.

After your health assessment, if you choose to undress, our RMT will leave the room and give you time to lay on the table and cover yourself with the sheets that we provide, and the therapist will knock before re-entering the room.  If you choose not to undress, that’s fine! Our therapist is able to provide the same treatment on top of clothing, we just ask that you wear loose fitting articles of clothing so that your body won’t be restricted during the session. Please notice that we also have a cancellation/late policy

Complaints

We are hard working professionals who have our clients health needs as our priority.  If you feel as though there was a problem with your treatment, we would like to know so that we can fix any issues and move forward.  If you file a complaint against our registered massage therapist, you must contact the Massage Therapy Associate of Nova Scotia (MTANS) and go through their channels with the required documentation and evidence of malpractice or improper treatment.

  • Any inappropriate email/text message contact to NeuroTouch Therapy will be passed over and deleted.
  • Any client under the age of nineteen must have parental permission, and a parent or guardian must be in the massage therapy treatment room at all times.
  • Your time begins once you are situated, and I have re-entered the treatment room.
  • Registered Massage Therapist provides sheets that will cover your body, and only the area to be treated will be uncovered.
  • In the case of a chair massage therapy, the client may wear a sports bra. Other than that, the massage  will be done on top of clothing.
  • Any sexual or inappropriate behaviour is not tolerated, and the Registered Massage Therapist will immediately cease the massage.
  • Please do not get up from the table to get dressed until the therapist has left the room.

Last but not least- relax and enjoy.
